My name is Cody and I’m a ceramic artist living in Chicago’s Hermosa neighborhood. Using the Japanese technique, nerikomi, my pieces are a playground for color and texture. I am inspired by the rich natural beauty around us, from geological formations to celestial movements. My process is influenced by painting, collage, and exploring the interplay of color, contrast, and pattern. Utilizing a variety of materials, each piece is its own canvas, completely unique.

Focusing on functional objects for use in the home, these pieces send a warm invitation to touch and hold. They are fired mid-to-high, and unless explicitly stated otherwise, are safe for food and daily use.

When not in the studio, you can find me birdwatching, gardening, and hanging out with my cat, Dave.
